WikiMatrix – compare them all. "The Wiki Comparison Site". This is WikiMatrix's own wiki system. Powered by the DokuWiki wiki engine, WikiMatrix serves to document the features of many different wiki engines (or wiki software) comparable through the Matrix and the Features of WikiMatrix itself. The WikiMatrix wiki was originally open for everyone, so anyone was free to improve its contents. However, due to WikiMatrix being affected by ubiquitous issue of spam, it recently changed to require login to edit.
WikiMatrix, hosted by CosmoCode GmbH in Berlin, Germany, also compares wiki software, and allows consultants for wiki software. It previously used to contain a glossary of wiki features, and also previously had an accompanying internet forum.
Sadly, this very useful WikiMatrix site was occasionally prone to intermittent periods of downtime; being unable to be accessed for many consecutive days, before being made available again. As mentioned above, when WikiMatrix was originally configured for open editing, some pages became frequently spammed; and with a relatively small community of regular editors, that spam would often remain for a while before being removed. :(
